About Me

A famous quote that is meaningful to me is  Good parents give their children Roots and Wings. Roots to know where home is, wings to fly away and exercise what's been taught them. Wise Phrase by Jonas
Salak. This quote means to me as a child and growing up you will remember the good advice, teaching, and
knowledge of what your parents have taught you. When you leave home you will never forget it.

My favorite book is "Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type" by Doreen Cronin the reason I like this book because the cow is typing a letter to farmer Brown of the different things that want so the cows is not doing
anything until they get the things they want.

A story about a child's life that touched my heart was when these two parents adopted a baby from a Russian and she had to choose between three little baby that was in a crib. At the time the baby was only eight months old so she was going to pick another child but the child Zoe reached out to her and her husband and the parents knew right than that was going to adopt that child. When Zoe came over to the United States
I was her first teacher at the childcare center. It was a very hard transition for me and my co-worker at that time she finally began to eat, she was comfortable with her environment and we gave her lots of love. Zoe would cry everyday and we comfortable her and made her feel safe in our environment. The mom would cry at times and we will tell her it things will get better and it takes time. As time went by it did and now until this day  she is in the second grade and doing very good in her school. She is a straight A student. That is my Zoe!!!

A image of a child'd drawing that I like is when the child drew a picture of their house and they was outside planting flowers in the grass. To me that shows that the parents is taking time out to teach the child about nature and how to plant flowers in the dirt.

My passion for the early childhood field is that I love to work around children. I want to teach, educate, and be an advocacy for children but I also want to make an difference in a child life. I love children all around the world.

I am an ambitious loving person
My name is Shartarka Carmon I am an Early Head Start teacher and coordinator for the
preschool of Early Start Academy in Durham North Carolina. I have been a teacher for
over fourteen years now. I have taught the ages of toddlers, twos, and preschool.
My passion is children and I love children all around the world and it shows on my
job. I have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s degree
in Child Development Family Relations.
My interests is I love to travel around the world to different places I never been.
Just this past December I went on a Disney cruise with my daughter to the Bahamas. I love to
learn about different countries and culture. One of the most challenge thing that I have learn
is to enjoy life to the fullest. Last year while getting my bachelor’s degree at North Carolina
Central University I lost my mother to colon cancer. I just receive my degree in December 8,
2012. Before she died I promise her that I would get my degree and I did. My mother’s death
hurt my family but it brought me and siblings closer together. The qualities I have is I am a
people person and I will help anybody I can. I do not have patience, but I have patience
when it comes to children and I do speak what is on my mind.
The strength I bring of being a member of an online learning community is that
I network and meet different people. I also like to learn new ideas and share my experiences
of different topics. I also will try to help you out as much as I can of getting resources of
different topics.  I also respect people thoughts, religion, and culture. The only thing I do not
like about online is when the Internet connection goes out when I am doing my work and I can’t
see the people who I am class with because I am a people person. My biggest challenge is having
patience with a computer because a computer is like a person.
