The outside link I have not explore is the Global Alliance for the Education of Young Children. The
Global Alliance is for the Education of Young Children that have organizations outside that share the NAEYC's commitment to children and excellence in education. The Global Alliance for the Education of Young Children provides an opportunity for early childhood associations from countries throughout
the world to share information about programs and services, so that members of the participating
organizations will have access to a greater range of early childhood resources.
This website contain information of early care education by providing a making a difference in
children lives and families. In the Global Alliance of Education for the young children become a member helps support high quality early care and education programs that lay the foundation for
school readiness, academic success, and adult achievement. Together we can network with a diverse
community around the world.

Sharing Web Resources Week 4

Sharing the resource of the Early/Head Start programs has help me professional of learning different children and families around the world. It also helps you network with people in the early childhood education.The e-newsletter helps you to be involved with the parents, teachers, children, and educators in the community around the world. It helps you to participate in events like parent meeting, and policy council meeting and legislative so we can network together as one community and one big happy family. The e-newsletter helps with the economists, neuroscientist, and politicians to network with the resources that are partnerships with the Early/Head State programs .This helps support the mission, the children, and teachers in the Early/Head Start program and the early childhood education.We can not do it alone we all have to network together to make it better for the children, the families and the community.
I learn from this newsletter  to network together as a community. You learn the educational, health,
economic, and law benefits of the Early/Head Start programs of helping children with families in the community around the world and how do they do things.This is a good resource for the community to learn thorough out the world. The website name is http://www.nhsa.org//

Getting to Know Your International Contacts-Part 1

In the Childhood Poverty Research and Policy Centre the poverty in the country in Mexico had a lot
of issues. The three insights I gained from this website is how poverty effects low income families when the woman are pregnant, food,and the climate change of the weather. If the women do not get the medical attention that is needed they have a high risk of still-births. In the country of Mexico with the poverty issues they have a lot of still-births when women become pregnant because they can not get the help they need and they do not have the resources like we do. The climate change of a temperature and the rainfalls have a lot to do with the crops growing for them to sell to make the money and it can affect people that have jobs and not able to work due to work.A household in Mexico  is considered to be capacity poor if its members cannot afford to cover their basic expenses on food, health and education, according to an officially defined basket. Finally, a household is considered to be in asset poverty if its members cannot cover their expenses of food, health, education, dressing, home and public transportation. This is the insights I gained from the poverty issues.

Sharing Web Resources

The newsletter that I subscribe was the National Head Start program. Even though I am

 a teacher in the Early Head Start program I wanted to know what is going on with the National

Head Start Programs around the world. Basically the programs are the same but they just

deal with different age groups. My concerns are the budget cuts that is happening

around the different states. In Durham, North Carolina which I am from we had a 120

slots available for children in the Early Head Start program. Ten percent of them children

they have to take is children with special needs. They took away 20 slots which was home based

programs. That was a disappointment to our teachers, parents, and the community.

            The newsletter caught my attention by how major the cuts are affected children, teachers

and families all around the world. The organization focus how can we prevent these budget cuts

and we can make it better for our families that are living in poverty. Congress believes that the

budget cuts are harmless and can be ignored. As teachers, educators, parents, legislative,

and the community we have to show congress how painful these cuts are in our own community.

My Supports

My support system is my daughter, brothers, father, godparents, and colleagues at

the job, church, friends  and the professor. My daughter is only thirteen years old and by me

being a single parent she see what I go through as getting my college education. I make sure that

her needs are meet and sometimes she wake up in the middle of the night and she be like “mom

you still up doing your homework and I be like yes” so sometimes she be like mom “I am so

proud of  you”. She is my motivation of keeping me doing the best that I can do. My brothers,

father, and godparents have been a big inspiration since my mother’s death. My plans was not

get a master’s degree but when I receive my Bachelor’s degree my brothers was like you know

what is next. I was like what’s next I am chilling no more degrees and they was like you need to

go for your master degree.  They gave me the motivation to get my master’s degree.

            My professors, colleagues at the job, friends and the motivates to continue to

get my education and do the best I can. I look up to the professor of Ilene Britt because she was

my advisor at Durham Technical Community college when I was getting my associate’s degree

in early childhood. She seen the determination that I had and I was eager student and love being

a teacher in the early childhood education. I still talk to her about advice and career moves that I

want to make and she be like you can do it. Since my mother’s death my friends has step in of

picking up my daughter when she has cheerleading practice while I am still at work or when she

has tutoring at school. My mother use to do these things for me so I will appreciate my friends

of helping me out when it comes to my daughter. If these people were not in my life I do not

know how I will make it. I appreciate how they are there for me in my darkest days of losing my

mother, the phone calls, a shoulder to cry on, but I also lean on GOD to give me the strength to

make it through. My colleagues on the job look up to me at work when they want to further they

education in early childhood of getting their associate and bachelors degree. They ask me

how did I start out with classes and how do I do it of taking care of my daughter and working

a full-time job and tell them if I can do you can do it to. I told them it takes determination and

self displine.

            The challenge for me is being a single parent, working a full time job, and going to

 college. It gets challenge for me when my daughter goes back to school, working full time,

my daughter doing extra curriculum activities such as cheerleading and dancing. Sometimes I do

not know if I am coming and going but that is when my support system gives me a helping hand

and helps me out. My support system keeps me positive and they are so encouraging and

supportive of anything I do. The most important thing is they tell me they love me a lot and that

 means more to me than anything. It is the littlest thing a person can do to be so supportive and

encouraging.

My parents and family experiment with play by letting me go outside do activities like kickball, jump rope hop scotch, and skating. Skating was my life and my mother brought me my first pair of skates. They were white skates with red wheels. I was so excited. This helps me with my physical and cognitive skills. My play was explored more outdoors with nature and play with my childhood or classmates at school.

I feel like that play is different from the time I use to play because technology has taken over. Children have computer, Ipads, video games, cell phones, so they don’t ha I do not see the children outside playing until the street light come on. When we play as kids we play hard that we did not have a choice but to take a bath because we were sweaty and you play hard all day.

My play as a child was a wonderful experience. I was able to experiment with nature of making playing with dirt making mud pies, and I would skate all day in the street down hills with no knee pads or helmet back than because we did not need them. I love to skate but I will skate after my homework was done and chores were finish and I would skate until the street light came on. Play has helped to understand a child’s development by using their cognitive, language, social/emotional development.
