Blog Assignment Week 6

The group experience that I went through was when we a staff meeting of employees not having
enough vacation days for a year with the boss and the director. Some of the employees get only nine days per year and we was asking our director is any way of would take any consideration of giving us more days and the answer was flat"no" and to see my co-worker expression and pain in their face it kinda got to my heart. The point they was trying to make is if you have death in the family you don't get pay, if you get sick you have to use your vacation days and the Christmas holiday we close for a week and you have to use some of our vacation days which is your nine days to get pay for the holidays. That was the hardest group for me to leave cause it had me thinking. I wish the closing of the group could have been more they would consider to add two or more days, or they could had say they would think about it. I think it would be a positive experience when I would adjourn with my colleagues as we are working on our master's degree. This will help us to keep in contact and network with each other in the early childhood education. We are learning global form each other around the world. Adjourning is an essential stage of teamwork because there is no "I" in team we all suppose to help and learn from each other. It helps us to become better teachers and educators in the early childhood education.

Blog Assignment Week 5

The disagreements that I recently experience is when me and a colleague at work. The disagreement was over when a floater suppose to  be in a class room and not mines. The prior week the director made a schedule of the room for the floater to give teacher's release time in their classroom to do their lesson plans. Well another teacher that work at the center sent the teacher in my room and it was not her turn to be in my work. So when the floater came in my room I had show her the schedule and she was like "thank you" Ms. Shartarka for letting me know and replied "you welcome". So the teacher that sent the floater in my room came in my room and fuss at me for no reason. She did it in front of the parents and the other teachers. I kindly said to her this is the time or the place to talk about and I told her I will not have you to talk to me any kind of way. I said to her the floater suppose to be in your classroom not mines her is the schedule. The teacher said I do not want that floater in my classroom "I do not like her". She walk out and slam the door. I was so pissed that I had to just walk around the classroom and pray. So my director came in later on that morning she came to me like I had started the argument. I was really shock at my director because she has known me for fourteen years and I just don't start a argument just for anything. I try to be professional with my parents and children in the classroom. I told my director you need to get the whole story before you come to me with this situation. I was so mad my eyes water up. So when she got the whole story she pull me in the office and apologize. She ask me was I ok and I told her no I was not. In my mind I was still hurt. My director pull her in the office and had a talk with her and told her she was wrong. So the next day I did not say anything to her or speak so she told one of my friends that she felt bad of what she did and she wanted to talk to me. So she came to me and was like I just like to apologize for what I did and I do not know what came over me. I told her I will accept her apology. I think how I resolve this issues is not continue to argue with the other teacher and walk away from it.

Blog Assignment Week 4

As I evaluated myself as a communicator I communicate better in small groups than in large groups. When it comes to public speaking and large crowds I do not  make good  eye contact to crowds and my voice is not loud for the crowd not to hear me. The one thing that surprise me when it comes to small groups is a a good communicator when it comes to talking to people one by one. When I am talking to people one by one I am able to make eye contact and I am not shy when it comes to communicating.  The insights about communication that I have gained this week is I am a good communicator of expressing my thoughts and feelings of when it comes to staff meetings, parent-teacher conference, home visits, parent meetings, and policy council meetings. I am also a good communicator when it comes to giving a advice and also a good listener. I be truthful and tell it like it is. For example last week my brother call me wanted to leave his girlfriend and he was asking me what should I do because he was stress out. He was saying they arguing to much in front of his daughter, she was not working, and all this other stuff. I told him on the telephone I can't tell you what to do only you have to make that decision and my last words was to him was pray about it. I told him that the both of them do not argue in front of my niece and that is not good for her cause she listening to y'all arguing and it can effect her. This is how I evaluated myself as a communicator.

Blog Assignment Week 3

I do find myself of communicating different to people that are from different cultures. I also find myself of learning of talking about their language, their background, the food, and the family traditions they do with their families. I also communicate by them of using sign language and translate newsletter, daily sheets, and parent meeting in their culture. A good example in my classroom is that four of my children are Spanish students and the other four are African America. In the classroom that I have the menus posted with English and Spanish, North Carolina State Regulations, and the labels of toys in the classroom. The three strategies that would help me communicate more effectively the people or groups that I have identified is using the Platinum Rule when it comes communication and culture, how you talk to people, and the way and the tone of your voice when you are communicated. As being a mother, teacher, and educator I will be a positive influence of making eye contact and talking to people the way I would want them to talk to me. I would also be a good listener to other people and be honest and open as I can when it comes to communication.

Blog Assignment Week 2

The characters’ relationships are based on the ways of the communication is

they giving each other eye contact as they are communication. They also  would

communicate through body language. The feeling and expressing of the nonverbal

behavior that you are observing is happy, smiling, laughing. They also gave each other

a lot of hugs.

The assumptions of the characters and plot based on which the interpreted

the communication  that I observe is that are well communicated family that the

parents love the children. They also was involve in their children lives.

My assumptions that I would have of watching a show is learning

how a family communicates with their children and the ways of doing it.

The assumptions that I also had was the parents love their children and all

of the children was different and special in their own way.

Blog Assignment: Communication

My parents was the person that demonstrate the competent communication with
a particular context. As a family we would have family meeting discussing once a month
and we would talk about anything.  When I was coming up there were a lot of strangers
adducting and taking children from school and from the park. I remember my parents
would say do not talk to stranger at all. If a stranger talk to us to scream to the top of our
lungs and run as fast as we can and try to get away to get help and call the police. The
other topic my parents would talk about is “sex”. As we approach the teenage years our
parents told us what kind of disease that was out there if you have unprotected sex and
the precautions to take when we do had sex.
The behaviors that my parents exhibit that made me effective is that let us
express our thoughts and ideas in a positive manner. It made us feel good to go and
communicate with them about anything. We also form a trusting bond with our parents
also.
I would want to model some of my communication behaviors after my parents
because I want to keep a open communication with my daughter. I feel like if you are
open with your children they will communicate with you about anything. They also want
be scare and talk to you. These days of time have change and children have so much peer
pressure on their mine. So I rather from my daughter to hear from me than somebody
else.
