The
three local or state organizations or communities of practice that appealed to
me is
the
Durham Partnership for children www.dpfc.net,
is a non-profit organization is to
make
sure children and families have the resources they need. They focus on early
childhood
education to make sure children are healthy, early intervention, and family
support. The state and national resources they have
are National Association for the
Education
of Young Children (NAEYC), the NC Division of Child Development,
and
the Zero to three. The second organization is the Child Care Service
Association
www.childcareservices.org is a
non-profit organization that ensure affordable in high
quality
childcare. This resource provide child care subsidy resources and information
available
to families, it advocate for increased child care subsidy for families locally,
statewide
and nationally. The third organization is the Durham Early and Head Start
program
www.chtop.org is to help low income families
with home-based , health, mental,
and
nutrition services for child and family and services for children with
disabilities.
At
this present time they are not any job opportunities but I was told from a
Early Head
Start
director that they suppose to get some more funding for the Early Head Start
program
which means some more high quality childcare would be in partnership with
the
program which mean more job opportunities of home base service, Family Service
Coordination.
I have been looking and I will continue to strive for excellence in early
childhood
education.
